While World of Warcraft's nine million plus subscribers are surely plenty happy to still be paying $14.99 a month, everyone could use a break once in a while. Blizzard has teamed up with DirectTV to offer just that.

Beginning today and available until November 30th, 2007, people who sign up for DirectTV using the promo code "57417 NEW" will receive 11 months of World of Warcraft as an added bonus. 11 months of WoW at the normal monthly fee cost would be just under $165. Adding more sweetness, those who are not already WoW subscribers will be able to download a trial version of the game and upgrade to the full version for no extra charge, while still getting the 11 months, as well.

For those of you wondering just how DirectTV and Blizzard managed to come together, it comes back to the Championship Gaming Series. See, DirectTV holds exclusive distribution rights to the CGS, which just recently announced that World of Warcraft would be added to their roster of competitive games in 2008.

For the less MMO-inclined, the CGS website is also offering a $100 Gamestop gift card if you sign up for DirectTV through them. Either way, if you're a gamer who is looking for some better television service, you could have some free money headed your way.

Story from here.
