With the new Age of Empires coming out in October, it has virtually gone invisible to me. To put this in prospective, Age of Empires has been my favorite game, possible better than halo 2. The very first Age of Empires was not a game to brag about. It was overall terrible with many flaws, while the Rise of Rome provided only a slim preview of what was about to turn this small game into a sensation.

Age of Empires II: Age of Kings was ranked among the top 15 computer games of all time according to Microsoft. I cannot call this an accurate statement, but in my opinion it is. Microsoft's Zone included an easy-to-use multiplayer. Like all games, it died out with the new Age of Empires and was layed to rest by The Zone on June 19, 2006. I still recall battles of epic rushes, stalemates, and vigorious attempts to cut through forrest with trebs to save my last few villagers. "Castle Blood 32" still sticks in my head because it was my favorite custom game type with nonstop blood bathes in the infamous room 32.

I was fooled into buying Age of Empires III expecting a more epic gameplay. But there was too much to do. It got to a point where it was unbareable to play. Yet Microsoft pushed their next installment called "War Chiefs." With the Asian Dynasties and not many civilizations to choose from, I don't expect to be spending any money on this game.
