Although I'm sure some people already know what I'm about to tell them, I figured it was something cool to share with everyone.

In my senior year of high school I had a psychology 2 class and for my final project, myself and a few friends decided to investigate the effects of video game playing on students 9-12 grade, male/female, and whether it promotes violence in schools. We surveyed about 200 students from each grade, at least 800 altogether and found that majority of gamers were male (shocker) yet the female gamers played mostly multiplayer games, usually sports or mario or something, and that students who played video games the MOST had HIGHER grades in school, got in trouble less, and had admitted to being in either 0-1 school fights their whole high school career. These were also the people playing FPS, some admitting DOOM or Grand Theft Auto as their favorite games. Students who didn't do sports or play video games could be in as many as 7 or more fights, had poor records with detentions, expulsion, ect. and showed the least progress in school out of anyone.

And they said DOOM was a factor in Columbine....yeah right. The whole reason that happened, in my opinion, was because they were outcasts to everyone else and their parents either weren't involved or cared about them getting picked on and prolly didn't realize the severity of it all...trust me I've been there and it's quite a possibility that that's what went down.
